The Museum is housed in the Vitelleschi Palace (first half of the 15th century). In the rooms on the ground floor, we can admire the precious Etruscan sarcophagi. The material on display in the first floor includes pieces ranging from the Villanovan to the Roman period and documents the evolution of Greek and Etruscan vase painting in its various forms. Recent opening of the chapel and the study of Cardinal Vitelleschi.
In the room inaugurated in 2015, there is the famous clay sculpture of winged horses (IV-III century BC), which was part of the pediment of the temple called Ara della Regina in the nearby Acropolis.
The Etruscan Necropolis, which has been declared a World Heritage Site for the colors of the frescoes extends for about three kilometers from the town, is full of chamber tombs with decorations that constitute the most complete documentation of the development of painting from the 6th to the 2nd century . B.C.

The medieval town, surrounded by walls with high towers, boasts important monuments and many beautiful churches:
Santa Maria in Castello, with a bell tower and cosmateschi mosaics, wonderful Romanesque building located in a dominant position outside the city walls.

The ruins of Gravisca, Clementino port, village of Saline, with the nearby “natural oasis”, embellish the Lido of Tarquinia, which is now among the most famous tourist and beach resorts of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Marina Velka, a part of Tarquinia coast, is a vast residential area, known for its golf court, engaged in an unspoiled and still natural coastline.

Among other Romanesque churches: Madonna St. Maria di Valverde, St. Martin, St. John the Baptist, St. Francis. All without baroque influences, yet sober and austere.
